Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk®

It’s a helpless feeling, watching someone you love battle Alzheimer's disease.

Renee is participating in a very special event called the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk®. She is walking for the more than 5 million Americans currently living with Alzheimer’s disease. She is walking because she can, and because she should. The Alzheimer’s Association, the world leader in Alzheimer’s research, care and support, is dedicated to finding prevention methods, treatments and an eventual cure for the disease. She hopes to be able to raise at least $400 to support the local Alzheimer’s Association, which provides consultation, information, referral, and support programs to those affected by Alzheimer’s.

To donate, visit the link below. Any amount you can give would be appreciated. Thank you for your friendship and support.

Memory Walk is nationally presented by Genworth Financial

In Memoriam - Little Betty

From Pets

Yesterday Betty shed this mortal coil. Hers was a hard life, yet one filled with periods of joy of which we are blessed to remember. She was a small kitty who sauntered into our lives one summer afternoon.

She was ever a good cat, named Betty for her “Betty Davis Eyes.” She was a small kitty, who found a supreme joy in playing with small foam balls, which she would bound down the hallway to bat around when thrown for her. She was also a lap cat, who was very affectionate. Most people who knew her remember her for her voice, which was a squeaky sound; sometimes she was affectionately called “squeakers.”

One of her favorite pastimes was to sit under the hostas and enjoy the gardens of which she wandered and decided to stay for the remainder of her life.

In Remembrance of Mandy

On April 10, 2005, we put our beloved Mandy Lu down. She was 15 years old and was having such a hard time getting around and had arthritis so bad. She was blind and we weren't even sure how much she could hear, not much from what we were observing. She is a peace now and not in pain and running in Heaven with Sammy, Chaucey, Brandy, Charmin and Whiskers.

She was such a wonderful dog and loved us dearly as we did her. She kept Char company by her bedside for almost 6 months 15 years ago when she had back surgery. She loved to romp and play with Sammy in the back yard in Crystal. She would go out int he winter after a snowfall and run and play, then come in the house with huge snowballs on her feet and tail! She is missed so much! We miss her waiting for us by the back door when we came home.

Mandy we will see you and all our other animals some day!
A picture of Mandy is on Dave & Char's picture album.
